Even I was taken aback at how early our Fun*Flirty*Fantasy parties got started for the year 2008. Still, it is a very much welcoming surprise. And I have to say that I loved this group of ladies. I don’t know about you, but when I looked back at year 2007, my heart overflows with gratitude.
There is so much to be thankful for.
- The vision I worked hard at,
- the acknowledgments my clients very loving bestowed on me,
- the support you have given me,
- my body that has miraculously held together in spite of my mad schedule and
- among the endless list, the love my family gave to me.
As legendary famous for (humor me lah!), work consumes my every waking and yes, non-waking hours. It has been real fun daydreaming of concepts. I love it when inspiration hits and you get a fabulous and/wacko idea such as The MAN EATER Program. Yeah baby!
There are moments of despair when paranoia overwhelms you and you question about your own beliefs and vision. That’s when the loved ones get hits the most I guess. They probably roll their eyes and go “There the diva goes cuckoo again.” Haha! Anyway, to set the record straight, my loved ones are really sweet to me always, although I’m sure they will prefer if I go more cuckoo-less. keke.

Interviews and more interviews. There is always all sorts of requests going on and it is a pleasure to accommodate. Although sometimes it can be painful when you have to juggle that with real work and commercial commitments. Still, it is nice to be able to contribute your insights into a well-thought out article. And always a compliment to receive a friendly call from the press.
Commercial Projects
Commercial projects are pretty ad-hoc and I’m careful to select those that goes along well with what we do. We had the privilege to work with FHM for two consecutive years, Girl Next Door 06 and SuperBad Girls 07.
Many of these girls have since been our clients, dancers &/ close friends of the studio. Of course, we also have the Model Hunt 2008 that we are sponsoring to look forward to.
Competitions
Joining the Arts Central/Artlander competition is something that is very close to my heart. It has been my desire to create more awareness of the beauty of art fusion and dance drawings is one such excellent example. It has since garnered much attention. Your VOTES are very much required and I urged you to support and to be a part of this cause. My many sincere thanks in advance.
Overseas Trips
There were many trips overseas too to run away from the studio and the country. Hongkong, Macau, Tokyo, Thailand, KL, Bali and god knows where! All really necessary just to clear my head and take a breather from the madness. Some of the trips were sprinkled with work, visiting studios, strip clubs, pole dance clubs and so on. It has been quite an eye-opening journey.
Family
So you see, it has been a wonderful 2007 for me peppered with sad episodes to make me stronger such as the passing of my grandfather. With me ramblings about work you would imagine that that is why I feel that 2007 has been awesome. The irony of it all is that although I had grown so much through my work, it is still family that outshines work.
Reflections
As I grow more mature and develop a surer sense of who I am, there is a lesser need for me to justify myself or even to prove a point with my work. Without that internal pressure, your mind seems clearer and you realize really simple truths about life. As cliche as it sounds, home is truly where the heart is. I see my parents growing old before my eyes. And my sisters growing up without me.
That’s when you realized all the glory in the world will never be enough. All one really need is a loving family who is with you and for you as you are with and for them. Interestingly enough, it is that love that spurs me to want to bring my work to new heights for the year 2008 and to make even more difference to the lives of women all over the world.
Love from family overflows. And perhaps you can love others more through your work now.

This particular hen party was especially draining for me. It started at an hour when I was feeling pretty much wiped out already from the entire day of heavy work load. But the show MUST GO ON!!! And so we proceeded with lots of determination to have a ball. And we certainly did exactly that!!!
The girls had a hilarious time figuring out their SensUal Walk and subsequently showing it off to their friends. Lots of giggles, whispers, jokes and more laughter. All well among the norm (read abnormal) behavior. Keke.

Hen Party Origins

You may just wonder how the cultural phenomenon that is the hen night experience came to be, what its origins were exactly. It might have been something to do with Cleopatra’s best mates, Natasha & Tanya, organizing a ‘Bring your own asp milk’ party by the Nile as a celebration of her impending wedlock with Mark Anthony.
It may also have been partly a result of Eve’s drunken ‘Apple & Snake’ theme weekend that preceded her tying of the leaf to the fortuitously heterosexual Adam. It may even have arisen as a result of Kathryn Parr’s compromise of a Tudor Inn Crawl with her courtiers following her axe-happy fiancee, Henry VIII’s, refusal to pay for her original choice of a gala ball…
It could be elements of many other such unlikely avenues, however we at LNOF prefer to think that the modern interpretation came about as a result of one very disapproving Dutchman and some good-intentioned friends of his daughter. The man’s patience was tested, apparently, when his daughter asked for permission to marry a poor miller, a suitor of great disappointment to the father by all accounts.
The result was a big fat NO, to which the girl’s non-judgmental friends congregated on her doorstep, laden with gifts and crafts, the purpose of which was to try and bridge the gap between the miller’s possessions and the fuming father’s hoped-for dowry. The shortfall was made up, the permission was granted, the marriage went ahead…and the concept of a hen night was born. Three cheers for a bit of Dutch courage!
As for the actual phrase of ‘tying the knot‘, there are also many versions of how this originates. Perhaps the most charming that we’ve heard is the Swedish version, whereby illiterate sailors and soldiers of long ago would send a piece of rope to their sweethearts as a marriage proposal.
If the rope, sent with two ornate knots in it, came back with those same knots tied in the middle then the serviceman could take it as a YES. Presumably, if the rope came back with some soap on it then the finance’s message could be interpreted as ‘I might marry you if you bathe more often’!!!
While we’re looking at key-phrase origins, it was common practice 4,000 years ago in Babylonia (just outside Stoke-on-Trent) that, for a month after his daughter’s wedding, the bride’s father would supply his new son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and, because the calendar month was a lunar one, the phrase ‘honeymoon‘ was born. Both of George Best’s previous fathers-in-law should thank their lucky stars that customs change as they do!
Quite how all these old practices have metamorphosed into the modern-day equivalent of L-plates, Salsa lessons and Quad biking in Nottingham is testimony to the Chinese whispers of social change.
The practice of women letting our best friends and relatives know how much they are loved though, just before they project themselves into the wonderful and frightening institution of marriage and all the possibilities which that entails – that doesn’t change, nor should it; and that is why you are reading these pages, we imagine, in your quest to put together a special, hopeful occasion to match this special and hopeful person.
And if you think putting one together is complicated, spare a thought for Cleopatra’s guests: have you ever tried to milk an asp?!

Sexy Boardgame

We have been meaning to try this really SENSUAL BOARD GAME for the longest time. When we finally get down to it, it was uhem, truly HOT HOT HOT! Any game that ends up with someone STRIPPING is always TANTALIZING is it not? keke…
Initially it seems complex but once we got to the flow of things, we never looked back! Everyone got NERVOUS every time the person next to them gets to draw a card.
Because you never know whether the card is addressed to you simply because you are sitting at his/her right/left! ahhh… SEXY TENSION cannot be that bad i guess.
Too many times, a card required some victim to engage in really HILARIOUSLY FUNNY action or activity that left the rest in stitches. Mild question such as “have you ever think about sex during work” to much RAUNCHIER ones.
If you are lucky, you get away with answering a private question. If you are down on your luck, you will find yourself doing things that you normally will never EVER be caught dead doing. haha!

I was greeted by the pretty decoration on the wall proclaiming to the world what the party was about. Other than that, the living room was dim, the only glow coming from the many candle lights scattered all over the room. It was going to be a big hen party. The girls were all uniform in their black attire, black tank top and black jeans. All slim and slender, a rather Dove moment.
The ladies were sensUal walking like nobody’s business by the time I was done with my instructions. Outbursts of vanity abounds. When the wall work came along, all hell threatens to break lose. The crowd was in stitches as I guided the bachorette to the finer art of lap dancing. It was HOT!
When she appeared donned in the costume she has picked, the whole crowd screamed, she was a sight to behold in that glitterish showgirl dress! She fully got into the act and was ever the pro parading her showtime with the playful crazy horse lights, every inch the VIP of the night!
I smiled, it was another successful bachelorette party. You can never attend one too many of these. And the main sentiments I left with? You are deeply blessed if you have even ONE girlfriend who celebrates your hen night with you. If you have a hen party organized in your honor? You are a lucky bitch!

If you are planning for a wonderful hen party for your girlfriend, help is probably required before you tear your hair off.
Then this is the checklist for you:
- Invites – Draw up a list of the girlfriends that you want to invite. Have a few key persons to help out. Determine the party size beforehand.
- Concept - Decide on a theme that you want, preferably agreed by most of your girlfriends.
- Budget - This is the deciding factor for the venue, food and program. It is crucial that all agree on the budget to avoid misunderstandings.
- Venue - Based your decision on location, convenience, concept and size of the party.
- Program – Take into consideration the bachelorette’s preferences and add in the “shock” or at least “girlish fun” element as much as possible.
- Specials - Have one defining moment in the party. Be original and arrange for something unforgettable.
- Booking – Don’t leave things to chance. Book everything you need, from restaurant, club and transportation.
- Contingencies – I guarantee you that emergencies will come up. So prepare beforehand all possible scenarios and solutions.
- Ambiance – Where the main party is going to be, make it fun! Spend some effort to doll up the crime scene! *p
- Food & Beverages - If food is eaten at the main party area, keep the food light and fuss free. Of course, stock up the intoxication bottles!
